Arts Center in London

Arts Center in London

Back in March a customer contacted us because he needed to upgrade his heating system in an arts centre in London which was previously a community centre.

We replied to Peter who is the artistic Director at Applecart Arts asking him for some more information on the property such as dimension of the rooms that need heating. Peter kindly sent over floor plans to us as well as some images of the two rooms where heating was required, the café and the main hall.

He mentioned that eventually he wanted to heat the whole building but wanted to complete this in stages, which of course is not possible with other forms of heating.

After going over the floor plans we gave Peter a few options of what controllers he would require, and which ranges would be best for his needs. After some further discussions over the phone Peter decided that he wanted to do a few extra rooms as well. He decided that the most used rooms in the building should be the first to have heating.

We discussed different rooms that we could heat within the price range and we agreed to heat the café, female toilets, male toilets, disabled toilets, the library and two other smaller rooms first.

After specifying which heaters would be needed in which areas, Peter asked us if we could calculate the running costs for him as he had heard the infrared panels are very cheap to run and wanted to see what his savings would be. We worked out the total kilowattage of the infrared system would be 9.08KW and the current gas boiler was 58.9KW. With the cost analysis the total savings worked out to be a total of around £2186.01 a year which worked out at a 59% saving!

On his original enquiry Peter also mentioned that he would like the installation done by one of Warm4less’ approved installers. After working out which heaters were going where, and Peter was happy with the heaters, we arranged an electrical survey to be done of the property so the installer could get a good idea of the works involved.

We presented Peter with the overall quote for the panels, controllers and installation and it was well within his budget.

The deposit was paid and the installation works started. The installation went smoothly with no issues and after a short 3 days, the heaters were up and running!

Peter is now really happy with his new heaters and has said it makes a huge difference from his old system. He has also left us a lovely 5-star review on our TrustPilot page.
