Portable church heating for a listed building near Louth

St Mary’s Church in Manby, Lincolnshire, contacted Warm4Less looking for a practical way to provide instant heat for the congregation without making permanent changes to the building.

As with many older churches, the age and listed status of the building meant that fixed heating options were not suitable. Wall-mounted heaters, suspended heaters and floor-fixed systems were all ruled out, so the solution needed to be fully portable, simple to use and sympathetic to the church interior.

The churchwarden and treasurer visited our showroom to look at the available options and experience the heaters for themselves. During the visit, Charli demonstrated both the 2kW Sunset infrared heater and the 2kW Vesta heater, allowing them to compare the warmth, appearance and practicality of each product before making a decision.

After seeing the heaters in action, the church chose four 2kW Sunset infrared heaters on weighted bases.

These were positioned carefully around the church to provide direct warmth where it was needed most. Two heaters were placed in the nave to heat the meeting area, with a further two positioned in the chancel to provide comfort for the congregation.

Because the heaters are plug and play, no permanent installation work was required. This made them an ideal option for a listed church where preserving the building fabric was a priority.

The Sunset heaters also include a tinted visor, helping to reduce the visible red glare that can sometimes be associated with infrared heaters. This was particularly important in a traditional church setting, where the heating needed to work effectively without distracting from the character and atmosphere of the building.
