Installation In The Peak District

Installation In The Peak District

This case study covers an enquiry we received through from a gentleman up the in the peak district. He was looking to replace old electric convection heaters with infrared heaters. His initial enquiry was to arrange a chat with someone regarding supply and installation of a new heating system.

One of our friendly team members contacted the gentlemen and by the following day a survey had been booked in. For projects like this, we always suggest booking in a survey. This allows one of our trained surveyors to visit the property and specify exactly what would be required. A small survey fee was paid, and the survey was booked in for 2 weeks’ time.

During the visit, the surveyor measured each area using a laser measure to ensure an accurate wattage calculation. They also gave the customer a demonstration of the heating panels. He gave advice on positioning of the heaters and a control system that would work best. The surveyor also did an inspection of the electrics including power points and the consumer board.

The specification for the project was as follows:

Two 800w platinum Wifi ceiling panels in the lounge
One 300w platinum Wifi ceiling panels in the Kitchen
One 300w LED mirror panel and a towel heater in the bathroom
Two 700w platinum Wifi ceiling panels in the lounge
One 800w platinum Wifi ceiling panel and One 450w platinum Wifi ceiling panel in the main bedroom
One 300w LED mirror panel and a towel heater in the En-Suite
One 300w platinum Wifi ceiling panels in the Kitchen

Alongside this the customer opted for some hardwired thermostats for the wet areas.

This whole set up came to just under 6KW!

To put that into perspective, a standard electric radiator can vary anywhere from 1.5KW to 3KW each. This means that this customers whole heating system is the same power as just two of his old electric heaters.

Following on from the survey a full quote was sent which included everything required for the supply and installation of a new system. Over the next few days, the customer paid a 20% deposit, and the installation was booked in for a date the suited the customer.

As the customer was away on business for the next few months the installation was booked in for the week after he came back meaning it worked alongside some other works being done in the property. The installation team arrived promptly and well prepared and got all the panels installed (12 panels) within just a few days!

After the works were complete, signed off the certificates produces the final balance was collected and we have another happy customer!
