Refurbishment Of Rented Flats

Initial Enquiry

When Annie got in touch with us, she said that she had an ongoing refurbishment project, turning a building into 3 affordable rented flats and a shop. She also sent a copy of the proposed floor plans in her initial enquiry as well.

Quotation

From here, the team ensured they had as much information as possible on the project to make sure a full, accurate quotation was produced. A quotation was sent off to Annie for the project and then a survey was booked in to confirm the details.

Survey

We have worked hard over the years to perfect our surveying service and ensure that it is as informative as possible. Our surveying service includes:

  • Measuring each room with a laser measure to ensure accurate dimensions.
  • Product demonstration so you can feel the heat first hand.
  • Full overview of the ranges that we offer including controllers.
  • An in-depth consultation on exactly how you want to heat your home and how you want to control your system.
  • Advice on the best positioning to get the most out of your new heating system

Following on from the survey, a few amendments were made to the quotation based on Annie’s preferences. The finalised products were:

2 x 1.8KW Alpha Bar Heaters
4 x 700w Platinum Ceiling Panels
5 x 350w Platinum Ceiling Panels
2 x 800w Platinum Ceiling Panels
6 x 550w Platinum Ceiling Panels
14 x White Onyx Controllers

Cost Analysis

During the survey we also mentioned that we would be able to do a full cost analysis which compares the savings against other forms of heating, in this case it was against a popular storage heater brand.

Annie sent over the proposed specification for the storage heaters and from here a cost analysis was created.

The cost analysis showed that the infrared system as a whole came in at 15.95KW, whereas the storage heaters was 30.70KW. This worked out a saving of £2205.66 per year which equated to a 49% saving.

Positioning Scheme

After the cost analysis was provided, our design team created a scheme to show exactly where we would recommend the heaters be positioned on the floor plans to ensure she got the most out of her heaters.

Deposit/Holding Facility

After the survey, the quote, cost analysis and scheme, Annie placed a deposit for the heaters to secure them while the property underwent some works. The heaters were placed in our holding facility to ensure they were still available when they were required.

Once the works had progressed, Annie got in touch to say they were ready for the heaters. The remaining balance was paid and then the heaters were dispatched for next day delivery.

Annie then kindly sent us some photos of the completed project along with the below comment:

The comment from the outgoing tenant was “The heating is great, its like sitting in sunshine”.
