Donating panels to charities and animal sanctuaries

8/01/2016

Many animal charities struggle to warm the dogs, cats and other animals, due to the prohibitive costs of ordinary latent convection heaters, which just heats the air which is so easily lost in kennels and other such structures. Far infrared panels offers targeted warmth. Suspend a panels over a dogs bed, for example, and there is very high efficiency in providing warmth. In our experience, a dog doesn't stray far from one of our panels when it's on! We sometimes have post damaged panels that we will donate to an animal charity that is really struggling with inadequate heating. The panels may have artwork on them, but we don't t ...

Swineshead Christmas Fair

8/01/2016

Warm4Less raised funds for local charity Centrepoint Outreach to assist them in their work with helping the homeless and vulnerable, at the Swineshead Christmas Fair on Friday, December 11th (6 pm till 8.30pm). We have put our (hopefully not dubious) baking skills to the test and provided muffins and chocolate cakes to sell. We sold nearly everything and raised a handy sum for Centrepoint in Boston. We brought along one of our heavy duty 2.4kw infrared heating bars, but had to turn it off regularly as it just about cooked us! ...

8/10/2015

With autumn and winter just around the corner, many caravan and mobile home owners will be soon be facing a battle against damp and condensation. Our English climate is not particularly caravan friendly and many mobile homes and caravans will suffer the unpleasant side effects of damp: black mould. This pervasive black growth can get into flooring, walls, carpets and seating and can cause serious chest infections. In short, it’s not the sort of thing you want in a caravan. Dampness and condensation can be greatly minimized with ventilation and airing. But when the rain is horizontal outside it is not always a good option. Most caravans ...

Forecasters predict a big freeze this winter

8/10/2015

According to forecasters at the Met Office, Britain may be facing one of its worst winters since 1950. The last time the UK had an icy winter was in the period 2009/10 where temperatures dropped to -22.3C in parts of Scotland and there was record snowfall in many parts of the country. Experts are predicting that the “El Nino” weather phenomenon will cause temperatures in the UK to plummet this winter. What is El Nino? This is a complex weather pattern that occurs when ocean temperatures rise in the Pacific (next to South America) due to a change in wind direction. This heat up the ocean in the Pacific has knock on effects in other ...
