What is an air purifier?

Clean air is essential to good health and with the average person breathing around 11,000 litres of air per day, it is vital to keep air quality high. The PureHome air purifier has been designed to cleanse interior spaces of bacteria, viruses, ultra-fine harmful particles, dangerous gases, dust and allergens from the air you breathe. This provides you and those around you with a fresher, safer and healthier environment.

The specially designed UV-C chamber is a key function within the unit. UV-C is part of the UV spectrum and is often used as a key part of the sterilisation process in hospitals, planes, factories, water sanitisation and even for bank notes. This lesser known part of the sun’s light is extremely effective at destroying genetic material including viral particles. It is safely kept in a secure chamber within the unit and any pathogens or viral particles that pass through the HEPA-13 filter must travel through the powerful UV-C chamber before purified air is released back into the environment.

Many air handling and purification systems use filters including a HEPA filter. However there are a number of different grades and quality of filters and it is important to use a high grade filter. The PureHome only uses a HEPA-13 grade filter which is classed as hospital grade (hospitals will use between 13 and 16 grade HEPA filters). Our HEPA-13 filter will filter down to particles as small as 0.3 microns and has a 99.97% efficiency rate at catching particles. Smaller viral particles are zapped by the UV-C light chamber.
