As of 1st January 2018, there has been one of the most significant shakeups in EU legislation regarding electric space heaters.
Electric space heaters now must be controlled by an internal or external controller to allow for more efficient energy costs, also known as Lot 20.
The EU commission has noticed that over the past few years, the electrical space heater market has increasingly made up a high proportion of energy usage by households and businesses.
The goal is to help further improve financial savings, reduce energy usage and to better product quality.
The heaters that we offer will need to be controlled by a thermostat/timer device, to optimise its performance.
With Lot 20 now published, for us here at Warm4less nothing much has changed. We have and always will advise clients to choose the appropriate controller from our accessory range to ensure the heater is being used at the right times, at a comfortable temperature.
By controlling rooms individually throughout the property, the user can improve the thermal comfort for it’s occupants, and further maximise savings on a day to day basis.
To help further, we’ve published a new help guide for choosing the right controller for you, which you can read here
If you’re still unsure on the type of controller which may be appropriate, then please don’t hesitate to contact us to get friendly, helpful advice.
